The 2016 Southern Roots Chardonnay was whole cluster pressed with fermentation that began in stainless steel tanks and finished in French oak barrels, where it was aged for 20 months sur lie. This produced a wine of impressive depth and power.
Our chardonnay is golden straw in color, with a predominant bouquet of white peach and lychee, with dried apricot and honeysuckle notes. The first impression on the palate is of pear, kiwi, blood orange, stone fruits and crème caramel. The finish is clean and lingers nicely, weaving together flavors that highlight the wine’s oak aging with hints of maple and butter.

This is an ideal wine for sipping at sunset on the beach or sharing great summer nights with friends. It is the perfect accompaniment to summer’s bounty from the sea, grilled or with a light lemon butter sauce.
